    Danish pavilion at the EXPO

The Danish Pavilion from Shanghai Expo Timelapse Machine on Vimeo.

The Danish pavilion is designed by Danish architects BIG. The video may have nothing to do with light. However I do like the architecture a lot. The pavilion is like a big luminaire, with the famous national sculpture in at its core. Check the site of BIG as well, almost as cool as their work! source: archdaily

Rainbow Church is an in installation which consists out of a 9-metre window with of 500 crystal prisms. The glass prisms refract the light to create rainbows in the space. The installation is currently on show at MUSEUM. beyond museum in Seoul. I absolutely love this work of art, all tough it’s a bit kitschy. Have a look at Dezeen for more in images. source: Dezeen

Stealth - new maribor museum by david tajchman

Architectures David Tajchman has made a very nice design for the new maribor museum in slovenia. The external enveloppe uses a pattern shown in various treatments. perforated, it works as a brise – soleil and filters natural light for exhibitions spaces. on floors the same pattern is used but in relief, making surfaces non-slippery, especially on the walkable roof.
I absolutely like this night time visual of the design. The black facade makes the building invisible during the night. Yhe perforations in the facades act like stars, in this way the design disappears into the night sky. source: Designboom

Vertical Omotesando by Wai Think Tank

Wai Think Tank have made a proposal for the Fashion Museum Competition in Omotesando Street in Tokyo, Japan. The challenge consisted in designing a 100 meters high tower-museum, containing exhibition areas of 20th century fashion history and becoming a landmark for Tokyo.
I like the colourfull design. It looks like a stack of colours in the night. Hopefully Wai Think Tank design a nice lighting scheme for their colours as well. source: Archdaily
