This surprising material and geometric shape makes this lamp both classic and innovative. The double glass cylinder recalls Art Deco forms in a unique contemporary way. The use of ready-made objects gives an appearance with a Duchamp idea. The lamp is inspired by the Polish scientist, Maria Sklodowska-Curie, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. The tubes are detachable and the lamp provides the opportunity for visual experiment by creating a variety of configurations and arrangements.

Smoking Robot made this sweet animation called Obsolete. Everything seems to be backlit and hence silhouetted. In the animation light is used in a very abstract manner which perfectly catches the atmosphere of a gloomy factory and a desolate bare plain.
Obsolete tells the story of a robot starting work in a decrepit toy factory. Trapped in the factory all its life it is curious about the outside world, watching a bird through the factory wall each day. When it mistakes a toy on the production line for the bird one day it sets the robots escape in motion.

What is brilliant about the work is the small craftsman refinement. Neon normally has a quiet cheap and rough character however due this refinement Bracey’s neon work gets a special character.
