The third & the seventh by Alex Roman

The Third & The Seventh from Alex Roman on Vimeo.

Spectacular CG short film by Alex Roman about the relation between photography and architecture. More then enough lighting effects in the film. It also show the cinematic effects of CG lighting on architecture. It’s really inspiring to see all the lighting (whatever daylight or artificial light) effects on materials and space of the several buildings. Great renderings(in V-ray) and super postproduction(in After Effects). You can see a making of the movie here and on vimeo. source: Arch daily

New LED luminaire design by Toronto based designer Buungi. I like the simplicity of the concept. Straightforward wall uplight. Everybody can make a nice looking fixture! source: designboom

Allow Spine TV to introduce Chris Bracey & Bill Elwood master neon sign makers. Chris & Bill talk about some of the famous signs they’ve made as well as the manufacturing process which hasn’t changed much since the 1930′s.

In this film we also see Chris Bracey installing the largest neon sign in the country on the roof of Selfridges in London. Chris Bracey’s father and Bill Elwood installed the first ever neon ‘Mobil’ in Europe in 1952. source SpineTV

HeHe has created a modular light system that responds to touch: through the electromagnetic fields of the human body. The hexagonal units can be assembled in any shape and modulated to compose multiple lighting situations. Light Brix is architecture composed by light. check out the cool video here.
